Split Point, Airey's Inlet Lighthouse, Victoria, Australia with the Southern Hemisphere's half of the Milky Way in the background.
It looks as if the light house is guarding the galaxy from disaster.
The moment I saw the result on my camera's LCD screen, I knew I had an amazing opportunity here. I stood there for a good hour in the blistering cold shooting long exposures. I wanted to capture the stars with as little Earth-rotation as possible. The Light house itself is lit from passing cars in the distance during the exposure.
I diddn't even notice the shooting star, but the camera did, in almost every exposure there were at least one.
This is a single exposure of 14mm, 400ISO, 2.8f, 69s

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactOH...my god. I hope you understand how amazing this picture is. Just...exactly how amazing and beautiful and fantastic I find this picture. The lighthouse alone would be one thing, but the background is what really makes this picture. The colours are great, and I love that you caught a shooting star there too!

Originality is there 100% as well. I've never seen this before. People often take pictures of the stars, but you chose to ground it with the lighthouse, and it definitely works, not grounding it at all in the bad sense, but drawing your eye up to the stars and making it stick out instead of being too flat.
Your technique is spot on too! Everything is sharp, the lighthouse isn't too dark or too light, the starry sky behind it is perfectly lit, and the angle is magnificent. And the overall impact? Do I even have to say it? 5 stars.
Wow, I'd love to be able to see this many stars in one place, with that beautiful scene before me, but since I can't, thank you for sharing it and allowing me some of that experience. Great job.
