... for a moment there, that was my reaction when I first looked at this photograph... the blurred part of the picture looks as though wild brush strokes were splattered on a thick canvas... the effect has come out really nice...
... but that's not why I am compelled to comment on this picture... the color of the flower is absolutely eye-catchy... goes perfect with the background...
...I know I've mentioned this in previous occasion as well Sven, but your pictures give me a sense as though the subjects are "there" just to pose for you - like human subjects - as though you ask nature to give some certain stance, certain angle and then click! The 'drop' (I'm certain that it's not manipulated) is one very good example here (and also the reason why I +fav this picture)... for a person who's seen this picture and is looking at your work for the first time, would definitely be mesmerized and zoom the picture all the way, just to make sure that this actually IS photography... not photo manipulation...
...I admire you, Sven, you've managed to create a magic here... to make a 'drop' pose for you - I wouldn't call it less but MAGIC!
ofcourse, have you ever messed with any tiltshift/lensbaby tiltshift(because they only imitate) i've been shooting a couple of rolls of lensbaby tiltshift recently my teacher henry horenstein let me borrow his and its amazing
