... dear heeeeman, watching your work after every upload and being your watcher for the past 7 months has taught me styles and methods that I could have not learned from anyone else... I never thought I could learn anything my 'looking' at stuffs, but I have and I appreciate you through and through...
... let me use that 'knowledge' for this picture - first of all, the ambiance of the picture is simply fantastic... any snapshot would have made it look like a bright light with no proper background to support it or with nothing that would give out the details of the picture... coming from you, it always gets an 'aesthetic' touch, fantastic work on that...
... but again, (coming from you), this picture cannot put itself in 'Fine Works from Steven Duncan' Gallery... for two reasons - first of all, it DOES look like a snapshot... something you didn't plan to take, something that was just there, pointed your camera to it and CLICK! Your knowledge of photography did make this picture a fine shoot but it looks like a mere snapshot... and secondly, it has not got that "Steven Duncan" touch to it - that touch that this picture has got... --> [link]
... I hope you don't it the wrong way... but this picture could have been better!
Nah you're right. I can only stretch the photos I took from a period of time for so long (in this case my 1 month trip to Japan back in Janurary). I usually submit the best shots first, and then the less nice shots trickle down. Occasionally the later shots are very well recieved, but others like this one arent my best. I appreciate youre honesty
