"For the Emperor and Sanguinius! Bring death to the aliens!" - Chaplain Lemartes, guardian of the lost.
Its finally finished 19 days after I started. This took a total of 20 hours on and off over these last few weeks and Im immensly proud of the atmosphere Ive created in this.
In Order:
5 hours on the center chap (Chaplain Lemartes)
3 hours on the chap on the right.
4 hours on the chap on the left.
4 hours on the Building.
4 hours on the star field and planets.
This makes it the longest Ive ever spent on a single image by 5 fold.
The referances I used was a photo of some run down gothic church in Europe. [link]
And the characters are based on my own minitures.
Shame that compressing it and saving as a Jpeg blurrs all the stars, they look quite good at full resolution.
Origional painting is A3 size, the *.psd file is 335mg and there are too many layers to count. It takes about 10 mins just to save.
For those of you who dont recognise the characters, they are Space marines from the GamesWorkshop 40k universe. These guys are members of an elite group of insane fanatics who wish to die on the battle field no matter what. They are part of the Blood Angel chapter.
Photoshop CS - 20hours
Paintbrush and smudge tool for the most part.
good. only one thing. torso on third marine looks too big, or atleast too big for lower half. Really good , though. much improvement since the chaplian by himself. Necrons could render them as dangerous as a kitten, though.
I haven't played since v3 of the rules were released, I haven't looked at the new codexes or anything. But when I did play in ed2, he used to rock everything. Always used to be my mainstay of my force.
Glad you like it.
But anyways.....
Like the colors and the kind of twilight feelling to it
